Rumsey Station Students Vote in Their Own Election
Students at Rumsey Station Elementary took part in Tuesday’s election by casting their own vote at the school. All grades took turns at the polling station throughout the day to learn about the essential democratic practice of voting. Students voted to name the intervention center, a book room next to the library, with a train-themed choice between “The Depot” and “The Station” that aligns with their mascot. And just like adults, students received a sticker for fulfilling this task as (school) citizens.
Students elected "The Depot" by a small margine of only six votes!
