The Papillion La Vista High School International Thespian Society troupe #68 finished up their annual canned food drive and collected nearly 40 boxes of food.

The food was donated to the Tri-City Food Pantry.

The canned food drive is an annual campaign that the group participates in called "Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat".

The TOTS-Eat campaign allows Thespian troupes to work on a project that gives back to the community and enriches the school - community relationship.

PLHS Director of Theatre Molly Grasso explained the students organized the drive, gave up their advisement time to collect the food, and deliver it to the pantry each year.

"I feel lucky to be a part of a school that recognizes the need for this in our community and to have students that step up to take on this project year after year," Grasso said.

Since the first campaign in 2003, Thespian troupes across the country have collected and distributed more than 4 million pounds of food to help their neighbors in need.
