(Parents and community members on Discovery Tour visit a classroom at Carriage Hill Elementary)
Once a quarter, parents and community members are invited to attend what is called a "Discovery Tour" to get to know Papillion La Vista Community Schools a little bit better.
Up to 12 people are able to attend the tour. The groups are kept small so there can be a free flow of questions and conversation.
The day starts with coffee and a chat with the superintendent. The participants then get on a bus to tour three schools and visit with each respective school principals.
During the most recent tour on October 25, the Discovery Tour visited Papillion La Vista High School, Carriage Hill Elementary, and Liberty Middle School. The tour had the opportunity to also visit the site of the new elementary school located at 120th and Schram Road.
The tour then concluded with a lunch at the PLCS Central Office. PLCS Superintendent Dr. Andy Rikli attended the lunch as well as other assistant superintendents. At that time, the tour participants had the opportunity to ask any and all questions of the school leaders and feedback was received about how the tour went.
If you are interested in attending a Discovery Tour, look for an invitation in your email early next year.
