Papillion La Vista Community Schools Cooperation BEST program which stands for "Better Educating Students for Tomorrow" held their annual business partner recognition on Thursday, April 25.
Superintendent Dr. Andy Rikli kicked off the event by welcoming the group of more than a dozen businesses. Mayor David Black of Papillion and La Vista Mayor Doug Kindig together made a proclamation announcing April 25, 2019, as Papillion La Vista Business Partner Appreciation Day.
Cooperation BEST Partnership Facilitator Lois Erickson then gave an overview of the past year and the activities the business partners have participated in. The 20th and 10th-anniversary partners were recognized, as well as the new partners.
The following awards were given out:
Superintendent's Award - American National Bank
Principal Award - Citizens State Bank
Teacher Award - The Good Life Sports Bar and Grill
Teacher Award - Mitch Beaumont, City of La Vista Government
Student Impact Award - Maria Weigum of Lowes in Papillion
Rookie of the Year Award - Laura Schwartz of the Papillion Community Foundation
Staff Award - John Schwartz
