A group of PLCS Zoo Academy students spent time teaching Walnut Creek Elementary 3rd and 4th graders about composting over a two day period.
Composting is a method that decomposes organic solid wastes into a fertilizer for plants.
The students created compost bins using 2-liter bottles, soil, and food scraps. The Zoo Academy students came back to the school on Friday, February 14 to help the classes pull off a zero waste Valentine's Day party.
