A holiday
tradition at Trumble Park Elementary School ended with first grade students
walking the halls of the school ringing magic bells to spread joy about the
holidays on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
Principal
Amy Wemhoff started the activity by reading “The Polar Express” to the first
grade students, which includes a plotline involving a bell from a reindeer’s
harness given to the main character by Santa, and it comes to represent appreciation
of the holiday season.
After
walking the halls of the schools, students worked on a writing activity
involving “The Polar Express” and made paper trains with writing that retells
the events of the story – so the entire day’s lessons revolved around the
classic holiday text.
