Prairie Queen, PLSHS teams participate in Polar Plunge for good cause

Groups from Papillion La Vista South High School and Prairie Queen Elementary found themselves willingly running into ice cold water at Zorinsky Lake in 20 degree weather, but all for a good cause.

The teams were participating in the Omaha Polar Plunge at Zorinsky Lake on February 8 to raise money for Special Olympics and Unified Sports. Minimum donations started at $50 per plunger.
The Prairie Queen Elementary team made up of 20 people called the "Prairie Queen Polar Mustangs" raised $4,866.00 for the Nebraska Special Olympics. The money will help benefit their school and special education community.
The Titan team made up of 16 people called the "Titan Dashers" rasied $5,182.00 for Unified Activities for their school.
