La Vista West Elementary School students visit Omaha Children’s Museum
Nearly 50 kindergarten students from La Vista West Elementary School had the opportunity to take learning outside of the classroom and into the Omaha Children’s Museum for a field trip.
The students and chaperones visited the museum on Friday, March 22.
They had two hours to explore permanent exhibits in the Charlie Campbell Science and Technology Center and also exhibits in the Art Smart Center.
The students topped off the trip by eating lunch at the museum.
Students participated in activities that tied back to the curriculum such as using materials they learned about in science, using math by counting, sorting, and adding. They also learned about the needs, wants, goods, services, and resources of communities which is related to what they are learning in social studies, among other things.
By the end of the trip, they were all smiles with painted faces.
