Fifth and sixth-grade students in the Robot Club at Hickory Hill Elementary School were able to debut the talents of the robots they created during their Robotics Talent Show on Wednesday, April 24.
The show is a culmination of a year’s worth of work. At the beginning of the year, the students learned to build and code the robots to have special talents.
The students had the freedom to come up with anything that was school appropriate and safe.
“We know the world is evolving and changing into a very STEM-focused place. This club gives them an opportunity to do things that they might not be able to do within the regular curriculum areas throughout the day,” said club sponsor Stefanie Contreras.
The talents varied from a dolphin who could swim across the floor, to dogs that walked, and some battle bots.
