The Titan ProStart team took home the Grand Champion trophy at their first culinary competition on February 27 at the Fort Omaha Campus - MCC for the ICA Student Invitational.
The PLSHS team, the Southside Troublemakers, consisted of Isaiah McGraw, Marina Papineau, Lexi Hassett, Brianna Johnson and Breonna Bohlman.
Along with the title, each student also received Sage colored Chef coats (only given out to championship teams and mentor of the years at the ICA) and each student received a knife kit (valued at $250). The team also got best appetizer for their Creamy Mushroom and Tomato Risotto. This is the first time for PLSHS to win this competition.
The win qualifies them for the state ProStart competition that will be held Thursday, March 6.
If they do well at that competition they will move on to the next "Final 3" competition in Lincoln. If they are chosen as a top team there, they will move on to Washington D.C. for Nationals.
Congratulations!
