Nebraska Arts Council helps make elementary theater education possible with transportation grant
All PLCS Elementary Schools have been awarded grants by the Nebraska Arts Council that total more than $6,000. The grant pays for each elementary school to provide transportation to learn about theater and acting at the Rose Theater.
Students at each school will get to have a full day workshop at the Rose Theater that introduces the students to theater. It also allows the students to attend a performance at a show at the Rose Theater.
The following describes what each school received as part of the grant:
- Anderson Grove: Funds to pay for buses to experience a performance of Ella Enchanted and a post-show workshop at The Rose Theater on October 29 as well as a full day introduction to theater workshop at the Rose Theater on November 22.
- Bell Elementary: Funds to pay for buses to experience a performance of Ella Enchanted and a post-show workshop at The Rose Theater on May 9, 2020 as well as a full day introduction to theater workshop at the Rose Theater on November 22.
- Carriage Hill: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the day on February 6, 2020 as well as a post show workshop, as well as a full day introduction to theater on November 21, 2019.
- G. Stanley Hall: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the day on January 31, 2020 as well as a post show workshop, as well as a full day introduction to theater on November 25, 2019.
- Golden Hills: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Goosebumps on November 5, 2019 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on November 25.
- Hickory Hill: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Goosebumps on October 30, 2019 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on November 26.
- La Vista West: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Ella Enchanted on October 29, 2019 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on November 21.
- Parkview Heights: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the Day on February 5, 2020 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 2, 2019.
- Patriot: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Ella Enchanted on November 7, 2019 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 3.
- Portal: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the Day on February 12, 2020 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 3, 2019.
- Prairie Queen: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the Day on February 13, 2020 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 4, 2019.
- Rumsey Station: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Ella Enchanted on November 5, 2019 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 5, 2019.
- Tara Heights: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of The Naked Mole Rat gets Dressed: A rock experience on April 4, 2020 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 5, 2019.
- Trumble Park: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the Day on February 14, 2020 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 9, 2019.
- Walnut Creek: Funds to pay for transportation to watch a performance of Howie D: Back in the Day on February 12, 2020 as well as post show workshop and a full day introduction to theater on December 9, 2019.
