Papillion La Vista Community Schools officially welcomed students back for the first day of the 2026-27 school year, packing a full slate of activities into what was otherwise a shortened schedule. Despite the abbreviated day, students across the district dove into the essential first-day routines that lay the groundwork for a successful year ahead.

Throughout classrooms across PLCS, students spent the day getting acquainted with their new school environments, meeting classmates for the first time, and learning about the teachers who will guide them through the coming year. These early interactions play an important role in helping students feel comfortable and connected as they settle back into the school routine.

In addition to building relationships, the first day focused on establishing the classroom routines and expectations that will carry students through the rest of the year.
