The first full day of the 2026-27 school year is officially in the books for Papillion La Vista Community Schools, as all grade levels at the district's secondary schools returned to session. With every grade back in the building, hallways and classrooms across the district's middle and high schools were once again filled with the energy and activity that mark the start of a new academic year.

The return of all secondary grades represents a significant shift from the shortened first day, as students moved into a full daily schedule complete with classes, routines, and the return of the busy hallway transitions between periods. This full-day return allows teachers to begin substantive instruction as the school year gets underway in earnest.

Even a rainy morning couldn't dampen the enthusiasm on display, as students and staff alike embraced the return to full academic life with visible spirit. The resilience shown on a less-than-ideal weather day reflects the strong sense of community and excitement that PLCS students bring into each new school year.

As secondary classrooms settle into their full rhythm, the district looks forward to a year of continued academic growth and achievement across all of its middle and high school campuses.
