Lincoln View Elementary Celebrates Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting and Open House, 7/24/2026

Lincoln View Elementary marked its official arrival in Papillion La Vista Community Schools with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house, welcoming families to tour their new school home ahead of the 2026-27 school year. Principal Monica Thompson greeted visitors as they explored the building's highlights and classrooms, giving students and families their first opportunity to experience the space where the Leopards will soon begin building their school community.

The celebration represents the culmination of years of planning and construction, as Lincoln View becomes the seventeenth elementary school to open within PLCS. The project reflects the district's ongoing commitment to accommodating growth across Papillion and La Vista, ensuring that new and existing neighborhoods have access to modern, well-equipped learning environments close to home.

Funding for Lincoln View came through two separate community-approved bond issues: land for the school was purchased using proceeds from the 2018 Bond Issue, while construction of the building itself was completed with funds from the 2023 Bond Issue. This multi-year investment underscores the sustained partnership between PLCS and the community it serves, as voters have continued to support the infrastructure needed to keep pace with district enrollment.

Open house events like this one give families a chance to connect with school leadership, ask questions, and build familiarity with a new building before the first day of classes. For the students who will walk Lincoln View's halls as its inaugural class of Leopards, the celebration offered an early sense of belonging and excitement for the year ahead.

As Lincoln View Elementary prepares to open its doors for instruction this fall, its grand opening celebration stands as a milestone moment for Papillion La Vista Community Schools and a testament to the community's continued investment in student growth and opportunity.
