Welcome to our Board Meeting Bulletin series, where we highlight key takeaways from each board meeting to keep our community informed and engaged with the latest developments in our school district.

Property Tax Authority Resolution: The board approved a resolution authorizing the district to increase its base growth percentage by up to 4 percent when determining its property tax request authority for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The additional authority reflects the opening of Lincoln View Elementary, the district's newest school, along with other budget considerations previously shared with the board. District officials noted the final property tax request will be determined later this year through the standard tax hearing process and that the district does not expect to use the full amount of the increased authority.

Foundation Annual Update: The Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation shared its yearly update with the board, highlighting Kids Club programming now operating in all 17 district elementary schools and a range of grant programs that support students and staff throughout the year. The foundation also updated the board on its Growing Up Greater campaign, a multi-year fundraising effort to build a new community engagement center that will bring together the Community Closet, Kids Club headquarters, and additional space for staff training and community use. Site preparation and design work are underway, with construction expected to begin later this year.

Enrollment and Staffing Update: The board received an update showing districtwide PK-12 enrollment at 12,242 students, an increase of 134 students since October 1, 2025. The district reported that all classroom teacher positions have been filled, along with all special education teaching positions except for one school psychologist opening. Recruitment continues for classified positions, including paraprofessionals and van drivers.
