Welcome to our Board Meeting Bulletin series, where we highlight key takeaways from each board meeting to keep our community informed and engaged with the latest developments in our school district.

Print Shop Property Sale: The Board approved the sale of the district's former print shop building at 108 West Grant Street to the Papillion La Vista Community Schools Foundation for $440,000. The sale allows the Foundation to build its new Community Engagement Center on the site. As part of the agreement, the Board also approved a related, non-binding memorandum of understanding giving the district a future option to purchase the Foundation's current building at 242 West Grant Street for $718,500 through December 2028. Proceeds from the print shop sale will go into the district's special building fund.

2026-27 Student Fees: The Board approved student fees for the upcoming school year, including a five-cent increase to breakfast and lunch prices. Families are reminded that a new state program will make reduced-price lunches free this year for qualifying families who complete the standard free and reduced meal application. Fee waivers also remain available for families who qualify, and families can update their application at any time during the year if their circumstances change.

Employee Negotiated Agreements: The Board reviewed tentative two-year agreements with the district's clerical and paraprofessional employee groups, both represented by Service Employees International Union Local 226. Both groups' members have voted to ratify their respective contracts, which include pay increases and an expanded bereavement leave benefit. The Board is expected to formally vote on both agreements at its August 10 meeting.
