Welcome to our Board Meeting Bulletin series, where we highlight key takeaways from each board meeting to keep our community informed and engaged with the latest developments in our school district.

Student Fees Hearing: The board held its annual student fees hearing to review fee waivers and set fees for the 2026-27 school year. Free and reduced lunch rates across the district remained fairly stable compared to recent years. Breakfast and lunch prices will increase by 5 cents at all grade levels for 2026-27, keeping the district among the lowest-priced in the metro area for meals. Elementary schools will now include a more detailed list of personal and consumable items students may be asked to supply, mirroring changes already made at the secondary level last year. The high school art fee was also reduced from $20 to $15 to match what is actually being charged.

Papillion Police Department Camera Integration Approved: The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Papillion allowing the Papillion Police Department limited, emergency-only access to district camera feeds through a platform called LEO Sight, along with related updates to board policy on video recording. Access would be restricted to active emergencies such as threats, fires, or other exigent circumstances, and all access will be logged to the extent technologically possible. The district retains full ownership and control of its camera systems, and either party can end the agreement with 90 days notice.

Print Shop Property Discussion: The board discussed a potential sale of the district's print shop building to the Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation, which would use the property to build a new Foundation facility. As part of the arrangement, the district would have a future option to purchase the Foundation's current building at a reduced price once its new facility is complete. No action was taken; the item is expected to return for a vote at a future meeting once legal review is complete.
