American National Bank Turns Counting Practice Into Bingo Fun at Summer School, 6/24/2026
Jackie Connealy

American National Bank visited Papillion La Vista Community Schools summer school students this week with a money-themed twist on a classroom favorite: changing-counting Bingo. Students used their math skills to count the change represented on their Bingo cards, turning a foundational math concept into a game filled with the chance to win prizes.

The activity gave students hands-on practice with currency identification and counting, skills that carry real-world application well beyond the classroom. Framing the lesson as a game helped keep students engaged while reinforcing number sense in a way that felt more like play than practice.

The visit was made possible through PLC Schools Cooperation BEST, the district's program connecting local businesses to classrooms to enrich learning opportunities for students. Partnerships like this one allow community organizations to bring their expertise directly to students, creating memorable, hands-on learning experiences that complement summer school instruction.

Community involvement of this kind reflects the value PLCS places on building relationships between local businesses and its schools, ensuring students have access to a wide range of enriching experiences throughout the summer.
