Rumsey Station Elementary welcomed families for an exciting evening of hands-on exploration as students and their loved ones gathered for a STEM Night celebration. The event brought together interactive activities in science, technology, engineering, and math, giving the school's young Engineers an opportunity to engage with concepts beyond the classroom in a fun, family-friendly setting.

The evening featured three distinguished community partners: UNL Engineering Ambassadors, the Omaha Astronomical Society, and Mathnasium. Each organization contributed unique programming that invited students to explore different dimensions of STEM learning — from engineering challenges and mathematical thinking to the wonders of astronomy. The presence of university students and community experts gave young learners a chance to interact with people who apply these disciplines in real-world settings.

Events like STEM Night reflect the district's commitment to making learning visible and accessible to families. By opening the school doors for an evening of discovery, Rumsey Station reinforced the connection between classroom instruction and the curiosity-driven exploration that fuels lifelong learning. For the school's Engineers, it was a celebration of creativity, problem-solving, and the joy of asking big questions — all core values that define the STEM experience at Rumsey Station Elementary.
