PLCS Honors Staff Milestones at Annual Year of Service and Retirement Ceremony, 5/5/2026
Jackie Connealy

Papillion La Vista Community Schools gathered family members, colleagues, and district leadership this week to honor staff who have reached significant career milestones and those preparing to retire. The Year of Service ceremony recognized employees who have dedicated 25, 30, and 45 years to the district, celebrating the exceptional commitment that has made PLCS a place of consistent excellence for students and families.

Years of service recognitions in a school district represent far more than numbers on a page. Each milestone honoree has spent years — in some cases, decades — showing up for students, colleagues, and communities through changing curricula, new generations of learners, and the evolving demands of public education. Their consistency and dedication form the backbone of a district's institutional culture.

This year's ceremony also honored the 2026 class of retirees, who close their chapters in PLCS with the gratitude and admiration of the communities they have served. Whether in classrooms, offices, or support roles, retiring staff leave behind a legacy of impact that will continue to shape students and programs for years to come. Papillion La Vista Community Schools is what it is because of people like these — and their contributions will not be forgotten.
