Papillion La Vista South High School celebrated a milestone in student career development during its annual Educator Signing Day on May 1, 2026, as a group of dedicated seniors formally signed their intent to pursue careers in education. The ceremony honored students who have committed to making a difference in the lives of future learners, continuing a tradition that underscores the district's investment in growing the next generation of educators.

Dr. Settles, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Papillion La Vista Community Schools, attended the event to personally congratulate the students and extend a meaningful invitation. He encouraged the students to consider returning to PLCS upon completing their education, expressing the district's enthusiasm for welcoming them back as colleagues in four years.

Educator Signing Day events mirror the tradition of athletic signing days, giving college-bound students who plan to study education the recognition they deserve for choosing a profession dedicated to serving others. The ceremony underscores how deeply the district values the teaching profession and the young people who aspire to enter it.

Papillion La Vista Community Schools remains committed to cultivating community members who give back to the place that educated them, and events like Educator Signing Day reflect that ongoing dedication to the future of public education.
