The curtain is still up at Papillion La Vista High School, where the school's theater program is presenting its production of Newsies this weekend. With performances still available, audiences have a final opportunity to experience the talented cast and crew who have brought this beloved musical to life on the PLHS stage.

Newsies, based on the 1992 Disney film and adapted for the Broadway stage, tells the story of a group of young newspaper carriers who band together to fight for fair treatment in turn-of-the-century New York City. The show is known for its high-energy choreography, powerful ensemble numbers, and themes of solidarity and courage — elements that demand significant skill and commitment from student performers.

Theater productions at the high school level represent months of dedicated rehearsal, collaboration, and artistic development for everyone involved — from performers and musicians to stage crew and designers. The PLHS production of Newsies is a showcase of that dedication, and community members are encouraged to catch a performance this weekend to support the school's talented young artists.
