Lincoln View Elementary Staff Get First Look at New Building Ahead of August Opening, 6/10/2026

Staff members at Lincoln View Elementary School had a milestone moment this week when they were welcomed into their brand-new building for the first time, just weeks before furniture will begin moving in and the doors officially open to students. Principal Monica Thompson greeted staff and special guests as they explored the facility, located near 96th Street and Lincoln Road, and discovered the classrooms and spaces they will soon call their own.

The building represents a significant investment in the district's future. Constructed as part of the 2023 bond issue, Lincoln View Elementary will become the seventeenth elementary school in Papillion La Vista Community Schools when it officially opens in August. Its addition reflects the continued growth of the Papillion and La Vista communities and the district's commitment to meeting that growth with quality educational facilities.

For the staff who will work there, the walkthrough offered more than a practical preview — it was a chance to begin envisioning the learning environment they will build together. Seeing new rooms, shared spaces, and the building's layout for the first time marks the transition from anticipation to preparation, as teams begin imagining how each space will come to life for students in the fall.

Lincoln View Elementary's mascot is the Leopards. The school's opening this August will mark a new chapter for the families and neighborhoods it will serve, and for a district that continues to grow while maintaining its focus on providing exceptional learning experiences for every student.
