Hickory Hill Huskies Run First-Ever Color Run in School-Wide Fundraiser, 5/21/2026
Jackie Vote

Hickory Hill Elementary School students came home a little more colorful than usual after participating in the school's first-ever Color Run — a vibrant, high-energy fundraiser that brought the entire student body together for laps around the school's parking lot loop. Students were doused in color as they ran, turning the outdoor event into a kaleidoscopic celebration of school spirit and community.

The event was made possible with the enthusiastic support of the Papillion La Vista High School Cheer team and the Hickory Hill PTO, who helped coordinate and execute the colorful fun for students of all ages. The collaboration between the high school spirit team and the elementary school community added an extra layer of excitement for younger students, who got to interact with their older peers in a festive setting.

The Huskies met their fundraising goal — a testament to the generosity of the school community and the enthusiasm students brought to every lap. As an added end-of-year bonus, students who helped the school reach its goal also earned the chance for a little colorful revenge on their principal, Ms. Thompson, before the last day of school.
