The Unified kickball season came to an energetic close with a tournament bringing together students from Anderson Grove Elementary, Golden Hills Elementary, Prairie Queen Elementary, and Trumble Park Elementary. Though incoming storms cut the tournament shorter than planned, students competed with heart and showed the spirit of encouragement that defines Unified Sports throughout.

The Liberty Middle School pep band kept the energy high for players and spectators alike, while the Papillion La Vista South High School cheer team added additional enthusiasm from the sidelines. The multi-school, multi-level turnout reflected the community investment that makes Unified Sports events a celebration that extends far beyond the field of play.

Unified Sports programs create meaningful competition opportunities for students with and without disabilities to participate on equal footing, playing alongside one another rather than in separate spaces. The model emphasizes inclusion, friendship, and mutual encouragement — values that were on full display throughout the tournament, rain clouds and all.
