Dr. Rikli's Student Advisory group convened their first meeting of the 2025-26 school year in late September, bringing together sixteen high school students representing both Papillion-La Vista South and Papillion-La Vista high schools. The group includes eight Monarchs and eight Titans spanning grades nine through twelve, carefully selected to serve as the authentic student voice to district leadership.

This advisory group plays a crucial role in district decision-making, providing Dr. Rikli, his assistant superintendents, and both high school principals with direct insight into the real experiences and challenges facing students today. The students offer valuable perspectives on key district priorities, including curriculum rigor, mental health support, and other issues affecting the secondary school experience. Their input helps ensure that leadership decisions reflect the actual needs and concerns of the student body.

The September meeting focused on relationship-building among the diverse group of student representatives, allowing participants to establish connections across schools and grade levels. Students also engaged in collaborative brainstorming sessions to identify topics of interest and concern that will shape the agenda for future meetings throughout the school year.

This student-leadership partnership demonstrates Papillion La Vista Community Schools' commitment to inclusive decision-making and ensuring that student voices remain central to district planning and policy development.
