Christopher Villarre

Welcome to our Board Meeting Bulletin series, where we highlight key takeaways from each board meeting to keep our community informed and engaged with the latest developments in our school district.

Superintendent Contract Extension: Following the completion of Dr. Andrew Rikli's annual performance evaluation, the board unanimously approved extending his contract through June 30, 2029. The extension maintains current contract terms with a 2025-26 salary of $273,947.31. Board members praised Dr. Rikli's communication skills and leadership approach that empowers staff while maintaining district excellence. This marks his 13th year serving the district.

2026-27 Staffing Additions Approved: The board approved 10.65 FTE positions for the 2026-27 school year to support the opening of Lincoln View Elementary School and address special education needs. The additions include 8.15 general education positions (classroom teachers, instructional coach, counselor, principal, and specialists) and 2.5 special services positions. An additional 7.0 FTEs were allocated if needed for enrollment growth.

Voluntary Separation Program Update: Ten teachers accepted retirement through the voluntary separation program this year, collectively representing 256 years of service to the district. The retirees average 25.6 years of district service and 59.1 years of age. This marks the first time since 2019-20 that all 15 available spots were filled. Most retirees expressed interest in returning as substitute teachers after meeting state retirement requirements.
