Board Meeting Bulletin, 11/10/2025
Christopher Villarre

Welcome to our Board Meeting Bulletin series, where we highlight key takeaways from each board meeting to keep our community informed and engaged with the latest developments in our school district.

Classified Staff Technology Refresh: The board approved a purchase agreement with Sterling Computers for $158,750 to replace desktop computers for classified staff across the district. This represents the sixth year of the district's six-year technology refresh cycle, with 250 Dell Pro Micro desktop units being replaced to maintain current technology standards for support staff.

2026-27 School Calendar Discussion: The board discussed the proposed calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, featuring 173 student days for elementary and 175 for secondary students. School will begin August 12, 2026, for K-7 and 9th grade students, with remaining grades starting August 13, ending May 21, 2027. Spring break is scheduled for March 22-26, 2027, with built-in inclement weather makeup days planned for February 15, March 29, April 26, and May 24-26.

High School Enrollment Balance: An ad hoc committee presented recommendations for managing enrollment balance between the district's two high schools. The committee recommended maintaining current boundaries, accepting in-district transfers on a one-to-one basis per grade level with a February 1 priority date, and continuing option enrollment only when space permits within the 500 per grade staffing capacity. The committee emphasized both high schools provide equitable education with no academic need for transfers.
