Behind the Lens: PLHS Yearbook Students Document the Story of Their School All Year Long, 2/18/2026

At Papillion La Vista High School, the story of student life doesn't tell itself — it takes a dedicated team working behind the scenes to capture it. Students in Joe Rohacik's Yearbook classes spend the entire school year documenting the people, moments, and memories that define the Monarch experience, from athletic competitions and performing arts events to clubs, special events, and everyday campus life.

Yearbook students develop a sophisticated set of skills over the course of the year, including photography, design, storytelling, and deadline management. These students are rarely found in front of the camera, instead choosing to use their talents to ensure that their classmates' achievements and experiences are preserved for years to come. Their work requires creativity, attention to detail, and a genuine investment in the community they are documenting.

The final yearbook product represents hundreds of hours of photography, writing, and layout work that spans the entire academic year. Each page reflects deliberate editorial decisions made by students who have learned to see their school community through a journalistic lens — skills that translate directly to future careers in communications, media, design, and beyond.

Papillion La Vista Community Schools celebrates the contributions of students like those in Mr. Rohacik's Yearbook class, who enrich school culture not through the spotlight but through their commitment to honoring the achievements of others. Their work ensures that the vibrancy of life at PLHS is never taken for granted. #PLCSMixtape #WeArePLCS
