Papillion La Vista Community Schools staff members are maintaining library services throughout the summer to ensure students have continued access to books and creative programming. The summer reading initiative provides students with opportunities to discover new literature while participating in engaging activities designed to maintain reading motivation during the break from regular classes.

The program goes beyond simple book checkout services, incorporating creative activities that make reading an interactive and enjoyable experience. Staff members are actively curating collections and programming that appeals to diverse student interests and reading levels, ensuring every participant can find materials that capture their imagination.

Summer reading programs play a crucial role in preventing the academic regression that can occur during extended breaks from school. By maintaining access to library resources and reading-focused activities, PLCS helps students continue developing literacy skills while fostering a lifelong love of reading and learning.

This commitment to year-round learning opportunities demonstrates the district's understanding that education extends beyond the traditional school calendar and that maintaining student engagement during summer months contributes significantly to long-term academic success.
