Fifth grade students in Ms. Craven's class at Rumsey Station Elementary recently transformed into historical figures for a creative presidential "wax museum" performance. Dressed as various U.S. presidents, the students stood motionless like wax figures until activated by visitors, at which point they delivered informative monologues about their presidential subject.

The innovative project combined research, writing, public speaking, and theatrical skills as students gathered facts about their assigned president and crafted engaging presentations. Students paid attention to historical details in their costumes and mannerisms, enhancing the authenticity of their portrayals.

Parents were invited to view the wax museum, moving through the classroom to "activate" each presidential figure and learn about American history through their child's performance. Younger students from the school also visited the exhibition, learning from their older peers while seeing academic role models in action.

This creative approach to historical education exemplifies Rumsey Station's commitment to making learning engaging and memorable. The project allowed students to demonstrate their knowledge while developing presentation skills that will serve them throughout their academic careers
