Papillion La Vista South High School students recently concluded their participation in the 2025 National SkillsUSA Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia, representing the district at the highest level of career and technical education competition. Nolan Kassebaum competed in Electrical Construction Wiring while Allison Watts participated in Criminal Justice, both having earned their spots by securing first place in their respective categories at the state competition in April.
The PLSHS delegation included additional accomplished students who served in leadership capacities at the national level. Rebecca Brooks attended as a state officer and national voting delegate for the upcoming national officer team selection, while Brock Davis participated in his role as National SkillsUSA Treasurer, representing the organization on a national scale.
SkillsUSA advisor and Science, Technology & Society teacher Roger Campbell accompanied the students to the championship, providing guidance and support throughout the competition. His leadership of the PLSHS SkillsUSA program has consistently prepared students for success in both state and national competitions.
This achievement highlights the strength of PLCS career and technical education programs and demonstrates the district's commitment to preparing students for success in skilled trades and technical careers through hands-on learning and competitive excellence.
