Papillion La Vista High School (PLHS) students are taking their first steps into the world of robotics and programming in Mr. Surprenant's Engineering and Architectural Design class.
Last week, the budding engineers gained hands-on experience with Arduino programming, a platform widely used in electronics and automation. Students wired lights and coded light patterns, familiarizing themselves with the fundamentals of the Arduino program.
This engaging activity serves a greater purpose beyond immediate learning. It lays crucial groundwork for an ambitious project later in the academic year - building a robotic arm. By mastering these basic skills now, students are preparing themselves for more complex challenges ahead.
The enthusiasm in the classroom was evident as students saw their code come to life through blinking light patterns. This hands-on approach to learning embodies the school's commitment to providing students with engaging, relevant educational experiences that prepare them for future careers in STEM fields.
As the Monarchs of PLHS continue to push the boundaries of their learning, this class stands as a prime example of the innovative education happening within the Papillion La Vista Community Schools.
