Robotics teams from Papillion La Vista Community Schools achieved remarkable success at the 2025 Create Jr World Championship held in Council Bluffs last week. Teams from Rumsey Station Elementary and Trumble Park Elementary represented the district with distinction on the global stage, bringing home multiple honors including a world championship title.

The competition featured teams from across the United States and around the world, providing PLCS students with an opportunity to demonstrate their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork on an international platform. The district's teams competed with excellence across different tournament divisions, achieving impressive results against top-tier competition.

Trumble Park Elementary's Team 143D captured first place in Thursday's early bird tournament, setting a strong precedent for PLCS's showing at the championship event. Their victory demonstrated exceptional programming, design, and strategic thinking skills.

Rumsey Station Elementary continued the district's strong performance with Team 143C securing third place in the main tournament. This achievement placed them among the top robotics teams from around the world, highlighting their technical proficiency and innovative approach to robotics challenges.

The crowning achievement came from Rumsey Station Elementary's Team 143A, who earned the title of WORLD CHAMPIONS in the main tournament. This prestigious honor represents the pinnacle of achievement in youth robotics competition and places PLCS on the map for robotics education excellence.

Adding to the international character of the event, Rumsey Station's championship alliance included teammates from Hong Kong, creating a cross-cultural collaboration that enhanced the global educational experience for the PLCS students. This international teamwork demonstrated how robotics education can bridge geographical and cultural divides through shared technical challenges and collaborative problem-solving.

The success of these teams reflects not only the students' dedication and talent but also the commitment of their coaches and the district's investment in STEM education. The robotics program provides students with hands-on experience in programming, engineering design, teamwork, and problem-solving—valuable skills for future education and career paths.

PLCS celebrates these talented students and their dedicated coaches for representing the district with excellence and showing what PLCS achievement looks like on the world stage.
