Papillion La Vista Community Schools demonstrated its commitment to supporting families in need through the successful PLCS Community Closet event held Saturday. The initiative brought together staff members and volunteers from across the district to provide essential resources to the community.
During the event, more than 100 families received assistance, with volunteers distributing 5,883 new and gently used clothing items. In addition to clothing, families also received new hygiene products, helping to meet essential daily needs.
The success of the Community Closet event highlights the strong collaborative spirit within the PLCS community. The substantial volunteer turnout and significant number of donations reflect the district's ongoing dedication to ensuring all students and families have access to necessary resources.
This community-driven initiative represents one of the many ways PLCS works to support families beyond the classroom, recognizing that meeting basic needs is fundamental to student success and well-being.
