Members of the Papillion La Vista High School Boys Basketball team served as mentors and instructors during a basketball skills clinic for summer school students. The high school athletes led younger participants through fundamental drills focusing on essential basketball techniques including ambidextrous dribbling, partner passing, proper shooting form, and competitive gameplay.

The clinic culminated with an exciting round of Knockout, a popular basketball game that allowed students to apply their newly learned skills in a fun, competitive setting. The high school players provided encouragement and coaching throughout the session, creating an atmosphere of support and learning that extended beyond basic athletic instruction.

This mentorship opportunity benefits both the younger students and the high school athletes, fostering leadership skills among the older participants while providing positive role models for elementary and middle school students. The program demonstrates how athletic programs can contribute to broader educational goals by building confidence, teamwork, and physical fitness.

The basketball clinic represents PLCS's commitment to creating connections between students across grade levels while promoting healthy, active lifestyles and positive peer relationships throughout the school community.
