G. Stanley Hall Elementary Unveils District's First Book Vending Machine, 2/28/2025
Christopher Villarre

G. Stanley Hall Elementary School has introduced the first book vending machine in the PLCS district, thanks to support from Papillion La Vista TeamMates. The new addition was officially unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the TeamMates Board and G. Stanley Hawks representatives.

The bright red vending machine prominently displays the TeamMates Mentoring logo and is filled with a variety of children's books suitable for different reading levels and interests. The machine has been installed in a high-traffic area of the school where students can easily see the available book selections through its clear display window.

Students at G. Stanley Hall will earn special tokens for the machine by demonstrating academic effort and growth. Teachers will award these tokens to recognize various achievements, encouraging students to strive for improvement in their studies. When students receive tokens, they can visit the machine to select a book of their choice to keep.

School administrators believe the visual appeal of the vending machine, combined with the reward system, will create additional excitement around reading. They hope this innovative approach will motivate students while increasing access to books and encouraging reading both at school and at home.

The book vending machine represents a creative partnership between the school and Papillion La Vista TeamMates to support literacy and academic achievement at G. Stanley Hall Elementary, with potential for similar initiatives at other schools if the program proves successful.
