Students from Ashbury, Carriage Hill, Parkview Heights, and La Vista West Elementary Schools recently gathered for a collaborative Unified Kickball Tournament promoting inclusion and friendship. La Vista West students added to the festive atmosphere by forming a pep band that provided musical energy throughout the event.

The tournament brought together students with and without disabilities on the same teams, creating opportunities for all participants to develop athletic skills while forming meaningful connections with peers. The inclusive nature of Unified Sports helps break down barriers and build understanding among diverse student populations.

Players demonstrated good sportsmanship and encouragement for teammates throughout the competition. The event created a joyful atmosphere where the emphasis was placed on participation, inclusion, and having fun rather than on competitive outcomes.

This successful tournament represents one of several Unified Sports initiatives within PLCS elementary schools that promote understanding, respect, and friendship among diverse student populations while providing valuable social and physical development opportunities for all participants.
