National Merit Recognition

Property Tax Resolution: The board approved the 2024-25 property tax request, setting the total levy at $1.123651 per $100 of assessed value. This represents a 2.6 cent reduction from the previous year, demonstrating the district's commitment to fiscal responsibility. The approved levy includes allocations for the General Fund, Bond Funds, and Building Fund. Despite facing a significant decrease in state aid, the district has managed to maintain educational quality while reducing the overall tax burden.

Prairie Queen Elementary

Option Enrollment Resolution: The board approved a resolution declaring Ashbury Elementary and Prairie Queen Elementary as at capacity for the 2025-26 school year for option enrollment purposes. This action helps manage school capacities effectively while still allowing for exceptions such as sibling enrollment and staff benefits. The resolution also notes that the district will determine specific numeric capacities for grade levels, classes, or buildings at a later date, ensuring a balanced approach to enrollment management across the district.

The survey showed improvements in staff recognition and appreciation, with 62% of employees feeling valued, up from 50% previously. Mental health awareness and support also saw positive trends. Areas for improvement include teacher retention, compensation, and student behavior management. The survey data will guide future initiatives to enhance staff satisfaction and support.
