Transportation Eligibility
Students who live more than 4 miles from their assigned school are eligible for transportation services or mileage reimbursement. Accommodations may be made for elementary students who must cross major thoroughfares, and Special Education transportation is provided as required by law. Transportation services for students in foster care are coordinated with child welfare agencies.

Bus Registration
To ride the bus for the 2026-27 school year, families must complete bus registration through the Parent Portal. Follow the steps below to get your student signed up.
Log in to the Parent Portal
Go to plvfamily.nebsis.org to access your account.
Need help logging in? Recover your username or password, or email helpdesk@plcschools.org with your student's full name, parent full name, and phone number.
Open Student Verification
Complete Student Verification for each student who will ride the bus.
Important: Bus registration is located under the District Info tab — not the Transportation tab. The Transportation tab is used by schools to track how students get to school and is not the same as registering for the bus. Expand the District Info box to find the bus registration form.
Fill out all sections completely
Answer all questions to ensure your registration is processed. Incomplete forms may delay your student's route assignment.
Wait for your route assignment
After the first weeks of school, students will be assigned to a bus route within 3-5 business days. The district will send an email with your student's bus stop location and pickup times.
Families with multiple students: If your students attend different schools, one student may be eligible for busing while another is not. If you do not see bus registration under a student's tab, that student is not eligible.
Questions? Contact the Central Office at 402-537-6200.
FirstView Bus Tracking App
PLCS uses FirstView to keep families informed about their student's bus. Use the app to track your student's bus in real time and receive notifications when it's approaching your stop. All bus delay communications are sent through the FirstView app — downloading it ensures you never miss an update.
Your district code is included in the route assignment email sent by the district each year. If you need your code, call the Central Office at 402-537-6200.
Download FirstView for free on the App Store or Google Play, then log in with your district code to add your student and set up notifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I miss the July 20th registration deadline?
Families can register for bus service at any time throughout the school year. However, registrations submitted after July 20th are not guaranteed a bus route before the first day of school. Once registered, route assignments are processed within 3-5 business days.
Do I need to notify anyone if my student is not riding the bus that day?
No — the bus depot does not take attendance. They only verify that a rider is registered. If your student will not be riding the bus, no notification is needed. Attendance is handled directly by your student's school.
Can my student be dropped off at an alternate address?
No — bus routes are assigned based on your student's home address only. The district does not accommodate drop-offs at alternate locations such as a daycare or grandparent's home.
My student transferred schools mid-year — do I need to update their bus registration?
If your student transfers schools and is still eligible for busing at their new school, please contact the new school so your student's bus stop can be updated to reflect the new address.
My student is new to PLCS — how do I register for the bus?
Once your student's enrollment is complete, you will receive a Parent Portal login email within 1 business day from nebsis@esu3.org — check your spam folder if you don't see it. Log in, complete Student Verification, and follow the bus registration steps above. The district will email you with your student's bus stop and pickup times within 3-5 business days.
What do I do if the bus is late or doesn't show up?
Contact the Central Office at 402-537-6200.
Who do I contact with a bus complaint or concern?
Please contact the district at 402-537-6248.
