PLCS Community Closet

The PLCS Community Closet removes barriers to school attendance by ensuring every student has access to the clothing and personal hygiene items they need to succeed. We believe that no child should miss school or struggle to focus on learning because they lack clean clothes, a warm coat, or basic hygiene products.

Through free shopping events and private appointments, we provide new and gently-used clothing for the entire family (infant through adult sizes), shoes, coats, backpacks, school supplies, and personal care items to all PLCS families in need. Our mission is simple: when students have what they need to feel confident and comfortable, they can focus on what matters most—their education.

The Community Closet serves any family with children attending PLCS. All services are completely free and provided with dignity and respect.

To Schedule a Private Appointment

In addition to our regular Community Closet events, we offer private shopping appointments at our storefront location for PLCS families and staff who need clothing or hygiene items but are unable to attend our Saturday events.

To schedule a private shopping appointment, please call 402-537-6279 or email communitycloset@plcschools.org. We'll work with you to find a convenient time that fits your schedule.

All services are completely free for PLCS families and staff. The only requirement is that you live in the Papillion La Vista community or have a student attending a PLCS school.

To Make A Donation

We gladly accept donations of new and gently loved clothing at our District's Central Office, located at 420 S. Washington Street (across from Papillion Middle School).  Donations hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30-4:00.

Monetary donations are graciously accepted at Central Office OR through the Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation website at plcsfoundation.org, click on 'Donations.'
