Non-resident Families

For various reasons, families occasionally want their child to attend a school district different from the one in which they currently live. Papillion La Vista Community Schools (PLCS) offers options for these families through the Enrollment Option program. PLCS believes parents should have a choice in selecting a school that best meets their child's educational needs.

Enrollment Option Program:

  1. Eligibility: Students who live outside of PLCS boundaries can apply to attend PLCS through this program.
  2. Application Deadline: March 15th for the following school year. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
  3. Approval Process: Enrollment Option applications are approved based on available space in schools and classrooms. Please note:
    • No transfers are allowed into closed elementary schools or middle schools.
    • Approvals are subject to capacity limits, which are set annually for each school building and grade level.
  4. Transportation: Parents are responsible for transportation for all approved applications.
  5. Transferring Out: PLCS allows any student to transfer out of the District if they wish to attend another district.

How to Apply:

  • Complete the Enrollment Option Form, available at the PLCS Central Office (420 S. Washington Street, Papillion, Nebraska) or linked below.
  • Submit the form by the March 15th deadline.
