Outdoor Education Information
Outdoor education has become a tradition in the Papillion La Vista Community Schools that 6th grade students begin looking forward to very early in their elementary education. This two day, one night experience takes place at the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Camp near Schramm Park. All 6th grade students have the opportunity to participate in this educational experience that is a part of their science curriculum. Lessons learned during the outdoor education experience will continue throughout their 6th grade year. This opportunity is funded through the Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation and the Papillion La Vista Community Schools.
Over the two days students will participate in five separate trails. Four of the trails focus on different aspects of our natural environment; ponds, enware, forest and soils. The final trail is a teambuilding and obstacle course where students will walk a high wire and participate in several individual and team activities.
