    Portal Elementary Volunteer Opportunities Description

There are many opportunities to be involved at Portal.  Please consider donating just two hours of your time throughout this school year to make this year another great one!  Please mark what you may be interested in on the PTO Pledge Form and the committee chair will contact you through an electronic PTO volunteer sign-up.  The committee chairs will be listed in the student directory coming out next month.  With any questions, please contact Gretchen Schawe at gschawe@cox.net.

    FUNDRAISERS

Fall Fundraiser:  New this year!  We’re excited to host the 9-day Boosterthon Fun Run as this year’s Fall fundraiser. We kick off the fun, healthy, and character-building program on September 15th.  Plus, students will be learning five ways to make their community rock with Boosterthon’s character theme Rock’n Town Live, a music festival theme all about community. Along the way, students will gather pledges for how many laps they’ll run at the Boosterthon Fun Run event, which is on Thursday, September 25th.  Your family is invited to come out and cheer on your student! The Boosterthon Fun Run program is a healthy alternative to traditional product sales that raises much-needed funds for our school and over 1400 others across America. The Boosterthon program also promotes three specific values during the fun-filled experience:  Fitness, Leadership, and Character.  There are many opportunities to help with this event and we need lots of parent participation.  Contact Julie Ortman or Gretchen Schawe to help:  jburkhead@cox.net or gschawe@cox.net
