What is the Jump Start Program?
The Kindergarten Jump Start Program is a partnership between Papillion La Vista Community Schools and the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties. The purpose of the program is to offer students a “jump start” into the school year by providing them with reading, writing and social opportunities prior to the start of kindergarten.When is the Jump Start Program?
The Kindergarten Jump Start Program will run from the end of July into August from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.Who Can Attend?
Students who will be entering kindergarten at Carriage Hill Elementary, G. Stanley Hall Elementary, Golden Hills Elementary, La Vista West Elementary, or Parkview Heights Elementary may be eligible to participate. Entrance into the program will be based on a screening process.What Will it Cost?
Jump Start Program: FREE
Transportation (if needed): FREE
Breakfast/Lunch: FREE
Kids Club (if needed): FREE
Health/Vision Screenings: FREE
Immunizations: FREEKids Club- Child Care (optional)
Kids Club is a child care program, provided by the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation, that is available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Children, who participate in the Kindergarten Jump Start Program, may be able to attend Kids Club before and after care for FREE while enrolled in the Kindergarten Jump Start Program.How do I apply?
