PLHS Summer PE for incoming 9th graders
8th graders interested in taking PE over the summer at PLHS will be May 30-June 14.  Online registration dates will be announced soon.   Those going on the DC trip can miss 3 days (normally we only allow 2 absences) but all 3 days must be made up on the make-up days tentatively scheduled for June 17th and 18th.

8th graders interested in activities next year
Any 8th grader interested in participating in athletics, cheerleading, or dance, please see attachment for more information.  For athletics, summer camp information will be posted on the PLHS website after March 1st.  Summer conditioning will begin May 28th.  Please see attachment for all requirements. Dance has a mandatory parent meeting on March 18th from 6-7pm and try outs will be April 1-5.  Cheerleading will have an informational meeting for parents and students on March 18th at 6pm.  Again, please see attachment for detailed information and requirements.

    SPIRIT SQUAD
The LVMS Spirit Squad is allowing any 8th grade student interested in trying out for a high school pep team (Dance Team or Cheerleading Squad) to join us for 2 squad meetings: Wednesday March 6th and Wednesday, March 20th in the Media Center from 3:15-4:15 PM.  In these meetings we will:

    • Discuss key high school tryout information
    • Learn and practice tryout skills
    • Practice and create cheers/dance combos in preparation for tryouts
Please let Ms. Heavican know if you have any questions.

    Kindness
Madison and Courtney in 8th grade shoveled a driveway of an elderly couple after the big snow storm we had last week.  Ways to go both of you!  Please continue to be kind and do nice things for people even though the holiday season is over.  If you have a kind gesture you would like to share with us, please send Mandy Spearman mspearman@paplv.org and email.  We will post them in our newsletters.

    PTN News
Thank you to all the generous parents who brought in food for P-T Conferences!  Anyone who brought food in their own personal containers and want them returned – please stop by the school and pick them up.

FAMILY NIGHT OUT:  Please join us at Which Wich in Papillion on Monday, March 4 from 5-8pm.  La Vista Middle School PTN will receive a portion of the purchases from the night that PTN will use to help support our school.  Remember to let them know you are with LVMS when purchasing your meal.
