Who should attend the College Jump Start Senior Transition ?
Do you want a jump start on your college experience while still in high school? Do you want a portion of your college paid for at a significantly reduced rate while still in high school? Then this program is for you!
What is the College Jump Start Senior Transition program?
The College Jump Start Senior Transition program is a year of courses taken at Metro Community College to help give high school seniors a jump start on their two or four-year college degree. The objective is to provide students a successful, low-cost, initial college experience that will help them to develop the skills necessary to successfully transition to a two or four-year college.
What is a typical day?
- During the Fall quarter, students will take English Composition I and Intro into Human Geography.
- During the Winter quarter, students will take English Composition II and Financial Literacy.
- During the Spring quarter, students will take Public Speaking and Intro to Sociology.
Logistics
Location: Metro Community College Sarpy Center
Schedule: Daily Monday -Thursday morning session (periods 1-3) or afternoon session (periods 5-7)
Prerequisites: ACT or MCC ACCUPLACER required and must commit to all six courses
Credit Options: High school elective and core credits and transferable college credits
Cost: College Jump Start program students benefit from a 50% discount on college tuition.
Grades: Seniors only
