Sports Activities Information
Students participating in any sport at LMS must have a Preparticipation Physical Evaluation (8th Grade Sports Physical) or 7th Grade Physical form (a separate sport's physical for 7th graders is not needed) and Student and Parent Consent form turned in to the Athletic Office no later than noon of the day they plan to participate. Until these forms are on file, a student will not be allowed to participate in any activity, including tryouts and practice.
If a student has a Physical/Vision Waiver, they would still be required to have a Physical or Sports Physical to participate.
Informational meeting – Thursday, October 17th 3:15-4:00pm in the Mr. Morris’s Room (512)
Tryouts – October 21st – 23rd. (Mon, Tue, Wed)
The Late bus will arrive at 5:00pm for students involved in after school activities that NORMALLY ride a bus.
If your student will not be at school, a parent or guardian needs to contact the school @ 402-514-3600 to report the absence. You may also e-mail Carrie Callahan with your absences. Please notify the school prior to 8:30am. A message may be left if the line is busy or after regular school hours. A student will be considered “unexcused” if the absence is not confirmed.
Parents should try to avoid taking students out of school for appointments if possible. If it is necessary, it is helpful if you call ahead or have your student bring a note to the front office when they arrive at school. If you wish to have the absence waived, your child may bring a signed note from the doctor when they return to school.
Building Hours and Supervision
School hours: 8:00am - 3:10pm
Late Start Wednesdays - On Wednesdays, school will start at 8:20am. The late start will have no impact on parent’s schedules. Students can still enter the building at their normal time.
We encourage students to arrive no earlier than 7:30am, as that is the time student supervision begins. Students not involved in after school activities need to be off school grounds by3:30pm, as there is no supervision after that time.
