Bell Elementary

Dedicated To Excellence In Education

Find It Fast

  • Dear Bell Community,

I hope your family enjoyed a restful winter break and are recharged to begin the second semester of in-person learning. We welcomed 10 new students to our Bell family for the second semester. We also welcomed two new staff members. Mr. Pat Baker is our new daytime custodian and Ms. Lisa Boots joins our kitchen staff to prepare and serve lunch to our students every day.

It is that time of year when we begin the planning process for next school year. Kindergarten registration is now open for all incoming kindergarten students. See below for important registration information. If you know of a family member or neighbor with a potential kindergartener, please encourage them to register.

If you will be leaving Bell for next school year, please let the office know of your plans. Having an accurate count of students helps us better plan for the upcoming school year.

Directed Health Measures are still in place at this time. Quarantine guidelines have changed to allow students to return to school sooner with a negative test result.

We continue to maintain the following precautions:

    • All staff and students wear a mask properly at all times unless they are at least 6 feet away from others.
    • Frequent hand washing and sanitizing
    • Social distancing during lunch and mask breaks.
    • Increased air flow in the building with filters changed more often.

Please keep your child home if they are sick. Report any Covid exposure to the school and watch for symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, tiredness, body aches, loss of taste and smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. We work closely with the Sarpy Cass County Health Department to ensure quarantine procedures are communicated and enforced.

Thank you for your continued support as we begin a new year together!

    Mrs. Mary Derby

    Daily Screening Guidelines
All families will need to complete a daily screening prior to arriving at school each day.
It is VERY critical that if showing any symptom - stay home.
Do your part to keep everyone healthy and safe. Complete the daily screener honestly!

PLCS Partners with Children's Hospital & Medical Center to help families conduct daily screening for COVID-19
Through a partnership with Children's Hospital, all PLCS families will have access to a screening app that can be completed daily on your phone or any device. This screening tool will walk families through a series of questions and give you action steps that need to be taken based on your answers. Daily screening is critical in keeping all students and staff healthy and in school.

  • We are excited to welcome you back to the opening of the school year. This is a year that has been filled with change and uncertainty. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed everything.

    Our goals are simple:
    1. Keep as many students in school for as long as possible.
    2. Protect the physical and mental health of students and staff.
    3. Provide each student with a quality education face to face.

In order to achieve these goals, PLCS has multiple plans developed that will ensure that we are prepared to continue to provide an excellent education whatever the situation may be. We will implement health precautions and cleaning/disinfecting routines to protect our staff and students. To keep our students and staff safe and in school will take a team effort. Parents, teachers, students, and administrators working together, each doing their part, will help to ensure our goals are met.
