LOOKING FOR DONATIONS OF POP AND CANDY

Through our PBIS program, our students can earn rewards based on their positive behaviors at school. In years past, we have been able to fund the purchase of these rewards through fundraisers like our yearly tailgate celebration; however, this year, the nationwide pandemic prevented us from fundraising. To get us through to the end of the year, we are asking for donations of pop or candy to use as rewards for our students. If you are interested in donating, you can send your donation in with your student to deliver to the front office or there is a dropbox outside the front doors. You can put your donation in the dropbox and press the intercom to let the front office know there's something in the dropbox. Thank you in advance for helping us continue rewarding our students!

  • What to do if someone is testing for COVID

If someone in your household is testing for COVID, the district policy is for ALL students from any of the PLC schools to stay home until the test results come in. We ask this in case the results come back positive.

Before students may return, we need a copy of the test results, negative and positive. You may email a copy to our school nurse, Mrs. Metzger, RN at nikki.metzger@plcschools.org or our attendance secretary, Teresa Vincent at teresa.vincent@plcschools.org or fax a copy to 402-898-0442.

Thank you for helping us keep all our students safe!

    Attention Hy-Vee shoppers!!

Anytime you shop at Hy-Vee, we ask that you please send in all Hy-Vee receipts with your student and have them turn it into their 4th period Advisory teacher. There is a monthly competition between advisories to see who can turn in the highest totaled receipts! Our school gets a portion of all receipts turned in. This is a year round receipt collection but please note: the ENTIRE receipt needs turned in. Thanks for shopping at Hy-Vee!

  • Attendance- Please Call!

Please remember to call or email us at LVMS if your child will not be at school, will be coming late, or will need to leave early. A doctor's note will be documented in attendance, but we still need to hear from a parent.

We are limiting our visitors in the building so we ask that you wait in your vehicle for your student to come out. Please call or email ahead of time, preferably 30 minutes before the time you will be here so we have time to locate your student and get them a pass. This also helps with students who are in PE and may be out on the track and will need to come in and change.

Please call 402-898-0436 or email Teresa Vincent, attendance teresa.vincent@plcschools.org

    Visitors to the Building

Visitors will be greeted through the intercom/doorbell system with screening questions. Our secretaries are required to ask these questions. If you have something to drop off, we may ask you to leave it in a bin located outside and we will come retrieve it. Depending on other needs, we will work with you on the best way to meet your needs while also limiting visitors to the building. An appointment or phone call will need to be made if you are needing to come into the building and a mask will be required.

Please make sure when you are dropping items off, you have your student's name on it.Having items, especially personal items in bags would appreciated.

  • NURSE NOTES
With the COVID-19 outbreak, please continue to review handwashing skills with your student. Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Wash your hands often to stay healthy.

Follow these five steps every time you wash your hands. If soap and water are not available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. You can tell if the sanitizer contains at least 60% alcohol by looking at the product label.

    1. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.

    2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.

    3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.

    4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.

    5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

Here is a great video from the CDC explaining handwashing as well: https://youtu.be/eZw4Ga3jg3E
